Great service for Banjos and other stringed instruments

Some of the steps required for a Re-Fret

The worn frets are lifted and removed with a special de-fretting plier

Sorting block for the old, and later new frets

The new fretwire is marked and cut to length

A special tang cutting tool  is used to cut the fret tang for bound fretboards

The result

If necessary the tang is reworked (rare)

The fret grooves are cleaned before inserting the frets

Fits!

The frets are inserted and tapped in lightly

And than pressed in with a flat fret caul

The fret board is covered with a layer of wax to protect it from the glue

Water thin "super glue" is run in

The fret ends are filed flush

And beveled to a 30-35 deg. angle

Inspection

The neck is replaced, the Banjo setup, and "test driven"
